‘Keep Austin Weird’ is the local phrase in the city of Austin which has been coined by the local residents who are dedicated to keeping the eclectic and diverse culture of the city alive at any cost. This slogan also encompasses the local business stores and the small scale entrepreneurs who add significantly to the eccentricity of the city. Many of these out-of-ordinary stores and restaurants are located in the South Congress area, also popularly referred to as SoCo and this venue serves as the locale for many local events and festivals as well.

Antone’s is a music bar which stages live performances by local artists and the preferred category of music is often blues which is played all the days of the week.

The Elephant Room is located in Congress Avenue and offers a wide variety of drinks which could be enjoyed along with living jazz music performed by upcoming Jazz artists.

The Buffalo Billiards is a one of a kind sports bar that features pool tables, dart boards, foosball tables in addition to a lounge and loft, both of which serve American food and are great locations for parties. There is a different specialty drink every night and happy hours are usually held very late every day.

The Copa Bar and Grill is a Latin American theme bar that offers typical Latino specialties, the Tex-Mex cuisine, live Latino musical performances and salsa dancing.

The Coyote Ugly belongs to the chain of Coyote Ugly Bars in America and like all the other joints in the chain, this one is also a country-rock saloon that provides great entertainment in form of music and dancing on the bar.

The La Zona Rosa is located in the Warehouse District in Austin and is a large venue that can accommodate at least 1200 guests and is an ideal venue for late-night parties and concerts along with drinks.

The Opal Divine’s Freehouse is an American theme bar that serves great food and drinks in an atmosphere of live music and immense entertainment. The bar has an outdoor seating arrangement as well and has an extensive collection of drinks to choose from.

The Treasure Island, remaining true to its name, serves tropical drinks in a fishbowl in a truly tropical decor and setting. Although beers are always available, some of the specialty drinks are named as Kazi Shots, Long Islands and Triple Wells.

The Speakeasy is a high-end upscale bar that boasts of live musical performances by famous bands in Austin. It is located in Congress Avenue and also has an outdoor patio.
