Freezing Weather Preparations

Freezing weather...in Texas? What? Exactly!

Texans aren't accustomed to freezing weather, and according to KXAN Austin News, the upcoming temperatures are expected to be the coldest weather in over a decade.

"Temperatures will reach just above the freezing mark during the day, but in some areas it may not warm above 32 degrees until Saturday afternoon."

"The National weather service is advising area residents to make preparations for the upcoming cold wave. A hard freeze can cause damage to exposed pipes and kill sensitive vegetation. Pets and livestock will be stressed by the arctic outbreak and should be provided protection."

KXAN Austin News provides tips for preparing for the freezing weather and Austin Water has tips to keeping your pipes and water from freezing.

Unfortunately, temperatures don't deter us from our daily mandatory routines such as work and the like, so please read this article to prepare yourself to drive in the upcoming freezing weather.

For those residents who have a fireplace, there's no better time than now to enjoy that fireplace and cozy up by the fire! As you can remember from the "Home for the Holidays" resident december event, S'mores also make for a great cold evening activity as you try to stay warm, and can't forget the hot coco and hot apple cider if you want to reminisce in the holidays that just passed!

If you need your fireplace pilot lit, just give us a call in the office so you can cozy by the fire tonight! Call us at (512) 707-8439.

So, what's the key word here? BE PREPARED!
Therefore, be like a boy/girl scout and "always be prepared!"
